What is the Nature Positive Practice Navigator?

A free, public collection of 17 simulation and learning apps that let you practice nature-positive decision-making in your browser — from TNFD disclosure and natural-capital finance to watersheds, forestry, agriculture, circular economy and preparing for international events.

Who is it for, and is it free?

Sustainability, strategy and finance teams in companies, financial institutions, local governments, NPOs, researchers and students. Everything is free, with no sign-up or installation.

Which app should I start with?

If you are new to the topic, start with Neipo Primer and Nature Quest 2030. If you are working on TNFD, try Four Challengers Take on TNFD and Nature Disclosure Journey. If you are interested in finance, try Nature-Positive Finance and Economics. Each app takes from a few minutes to about half an hour.

What skills can I build?

Through choices and their consequences, you can practice understanding the connections between nature and business; reading primary sources and evidence, including TNFD materials; mapping stakeholder perspectives and trade-offs; structuring investments, contracts and business proposals; and formulating questions and action plans for international events. This is not an exercise in memorizing facts, but in making judgments, explaining your reasoning and identifying the next move.

How can professional consultants and practitioners in the field use the platform?

Use it to frame key issues before a project begins, warm up meetings and training sessions, develop a shared language with stakeholders, support junior staff development, and establish review criteria for proposals and disclosure drafts. Try one app that is close to your topic; note why you made each choice, what did not feel right, and what evidence is missing; then translate those observations into questions, validation points and next conversations for the real project. The simulations are not a substitute for professional judgment or primary sources.

The creator is Tetsu Hattori, a Japan-based nature-positive strategy consultant. The site draws on practical experience with TNFD, SBTN and the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. It is operated by the non-profit Earthday Everyday.

Which languages are available?

Japanese and English offer all 17 apps; Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese and Indonesian offer 12 each; Arabic offers 11; and French and Russian offer 12 each.

Prototype

The Nature Positive Practice Navigator is a free collection of 17 browser-based simulation and learning apps for practitioners in companies, financial institutions, local governments and NPOs, and for students, who want to learn nature-positive business by doing rather than only reading. The apps cover TNFD disclosure, nature-positive finance and economics, watersheds and the blue economy, green infrastructure, agricultural GX, forestry, circular economy, soil and greening, and global events such as CBD COP17 and the Global Nature Positive Summit 2026. It was created in Japan by Tetsu Hattori, a nature-positive strategy consultant, and is operated by the non-profit Earthday Everyday. It is offered in Japanese, English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese, Indonesian, Arabic, French and Russian. No registration or installation is required.

"Neipo Primer" is an online assessment of foundational nature-positive knowledge. Pass it and you will be ready to enjoy the full range of applications on this site. An independent self-study app for university students who are new to nature positive and professionals newly assigned to nature or ESG roles. An independent self-study app for university students who are new to nature positive and professionals newly assigned to nature or ESG roles. It covers the CBD’s three objectives, the Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, IPBES science, TNFD disclosure, and business guidance from WEF and WBCSD through an entry quiz, five short modules, a 25-question final exam, Level 3 and Level 2 assessments, and workplace scenarios. Identify gaps, review the material, and progress toward badges and a completion certificate. This is not an official accreditation or professional qualification.
